Marcelo Eugenio Griffi graduated as a lawyer from the Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1978. He has specialized in Banking and Public Law and has had an active role in both the private and the public sector. He has been university Professor of Procedural Law, Banking and Financial Law (graduate and postgraduate courses). He was Legal Undersecretary at the Coordination Secretariat of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (2001), Manager of Legal Affairs (1989-1990) and Internal Comptroller (2001-2005) of the Central Bank of Argentina. He was also member of the Financial System Restructuring Unit of the Central Bank of Argentina (created by Decree 1262/03) from 2003 to 2005, member of the corporate government of the Bank for International Settlements (2003/2005) and participated in the Argentine delegations that attended the plenary meetings of the FATF (Financial Action Task Force) in 2004 and 2005. He was appointed Internal Comptroller of Banco Ciudad de Buenos Aires (2006/2008) and advisor of the Board of Directors of Seguro de Depósitos S.A. – Sedesa (2008/2011). Legal and Administrative Secretary of the Ministry of Finance (Dec 2015, Jan 2017).
